Novoxel was founded in 2011 by Michael Slatkine, Ph.D., who invented TMA technology,
and by Mr. Jacob Zlochover. Mr. Raphi Shavit joined as the company’s CEO in 2012.

Michael Slatkine, Ph.D.

Dr. Slatkine earned his doctorate degree in physics from the Weizmann Institute. He has served as Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development at Lumenis, a global leader in aesthetic medical device technology. Michael has initiated and contributed to numerous patents and inventions in the field of aesthetic and medical lasers and also invented Pneumatic Skin Flattening (PSF) technology for painless aesthetic therapies. Michael is an out of the box thinker and has the ability to introduce new and simple concepts that replace complex systems.

Mr. Jacob Zlochover

Mr. Zlochover has over 30 years of experience in the development, sales and marketing of medical and aesthetic lasers. He has served in managerial positions at some of the leading aesthetic companies including Laser Industries, UltraShape and Syneron, where he was manager of the European office until 2010.

Mr. Raphi Shavit

Mr. Shavit holds a B.Sc. in Math and Economics and an MBA from the University of Rochester, N.Y. In 2002, Mr. Shavit and Dr. Slatkine co-founded Inolase Ltd., a medical device company that focused on adjunct devices designed to reduce the pain associated with aesthetic laser procedures. Inolase was acquired by Candela Corporation, a leading American aesthetic medical device laser company in 2007.
Prior to entering the medical device field, he owned and managed a membrane water treatment manufacturing company which developed nano-filtration membranes and applications serving the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries worldwide. In 1996, the company licensed its technology to a world leader in the field.

MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD

Dr. Lask is a Clinical Professor and the Director of Dermatologic Surgery at the Dermatologic Laser Center within the David Geffen School of Medicine-UCLA in Southern California. He has been a member of the UCLA Dermatology Faculty since 1989.

Having always had a special interest in the application of lasers in Dermatology, he headed one of the eight investigative sites for the original pulsed dye laser and subsequently helmed one of three investigative sites for the second generation ‘longer’ pulsed dye laser. He co-authored one of the original publications on the early treatment of capillary hemangiomas with the pulsed dye laser. Dr. Lask also co-authored one of the first publications on the usage of the CO₂ laser for the treatment of sun damage and wrinkles.

He has co-edited four textbooks: Aesthetic Dermatology, Principles and Practices of Cutaneous Surgery, Lasers in Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, and Comprehensive Aesthetic Rejuvenation: A Regional Approach. He is also a founding editor of the Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy.

Dr. Monica Elman is considered to be a pioneer in the field of aesthetic dermatology in Israel. She is currently on the editorial board of the revered Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, and is a member of the International Society of Laser Surgeons and the American Academy of Dermatology.

In 1995, she opened her first aesthetic laser clinic in Israel. Today, her clinics offer a full range of services covering dermatology, aesthetic dermatology and plastic surgery. The procedures performed in her clinics are considered to be the gold standard across the country. She has conducted numerous studies in skin rejuvenation, acne clearance and other skin conditions in her efforts to promote safe and effective skin care alternatives to her patients.

Dr. Elman is a respected figure in the world of aesthetic dermatology. In addition to her many clinical contributions and international speaking engagements, her published articles are often cited by her peers as reliable sources. Dr. Elman’s expertise in dermatology and aesthetic medicine is well-recognized beyond her chosen field. She is a sought after expert and has appeared on TV programs, in magazines and newspapers.

Dr. Nathalie Fournier is an aesthetic dermatologist and licensed M.D., who is board certified in Dermatology, Leprology and Tropical Diseases via Montpellier Medical University in France (1998). She also holds a certificate of Dermatologic Surgery from France’s Paris Medical University.

She is a member of: ASLMS, ESLD, SFD and SFLM. For over 20 years, Dr. Fournier has been a private practice dermatologist in Clapiers, France. She is also active in consulting, lecturing and teaching and often takes part in media events for various companies.

Dr. Bernstein earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University in 1981. He then earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1986. Following his internship, he completed a fellowship at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health, working in the area of photodynamic therapy and cytokines for wound healing. After completion of his dermatology residency at Hahnemann University, he accepted a position as Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Jefferson Medical College.

Dr. Bernstein is director of the Laser Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology Centers Ardmore, Pennsylvania, performing laser skin surgery.

Dr. Bernstein has served on the scientific advisory board of numerous laser companies and has served on the laser special study section of the National Institutes of Health. He is past president of the Philadelphia Dermatologic Society, past vice president of the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons, and has served as program chair for the annual meeting of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Bernstein has authored over 65 peer-reviewed articles and over 30 review articles or book chapters, and given more than 300 presentations at scientific meetings. He has been issued 11 U.S. and numerous international patents. Dr. Bernstein has served as a reviewer for 16 peer-reviewed journals.

Roy G. Geronemus, M.D., Director of the Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York, graduated from Harvard University and pursued his medical education at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
He trained in dermatology at the New York University Medical Center where he was the chief resident and subsequently underwent a fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University Medical Center where he founded its laser program and served nine years as chief of dermatologic and laser surgery. He is past president of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Geronemus is the Chairman of the Board of the New York Stem Cell Foundation. The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery has awarded Dr. Geronemus with the Ellet Drake award for outstanding contributions to laser medicine and the Leon Goldman award for excellence in clinical laser research.
The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery has awarded him the Samuel J. Stegman award for distinguished service and the University of Miami School of Medicine has elected him into their Hall of Fame. He has received the Physician of the Year honor from the Vascular Birthmark Foundation which will also be awarding him their Humanitarian Award in 2014. He has been listed in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors in New York 17 times, and 10 times as one of the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Geronemus has been a featured speaker of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery for many years, as well as speaking to other national and international audiences. He has published over 240 medical articles, chapters and books. He has been involved with the development of multiple new laser systems and therapeutic techniques, which are now commonly used throughout the world.
